"Cheetah Ballerina"

Everyone asked our sweet princess what she was going to be for Halloween and all were given the same response "Cheetah Ballerina". Some would give the confused look, others would hear ballerina and respond how sweet, but no one really understood. Here is our "Cheetah Ballerina" she picked the costume in a store well before October and named it herself. Please be sure to note her lip gloss in the close up picture, it was our compromise so she would let me paint on the nose and wiskers. She was the sweetest cheetah (despite her scary pose)to share all her candy with big brother except the ring pop-since it was for girls:)

A Homerun Halloween

We had a very special Halloween-to be a part of history. The original plan was to be a soldier so we stuck with that plan just changed the location from neighborhood trick or treating to the World Series. We may have lost the game but our soldier was on the "big screen" during the game, he got to see George W. (and George Sr.)throw out the first pitch, and ofcourse there was a bucket of candy waiting at home. Go Rangers!

We have had our first full week of school, it is already apparent that our Saturdays will be more cherished than before! His week went great. He has a wonderful teacher and has already made a few friends in his classroom. Mom and Dad are certain to have already been labeled as the "over the top parents". In only six days, we have done cupcakes for the class, made copies for the teacher, traded emails with the principal about a new program, and brought in tissues from Sams since the teacher was short for the classroom:)
Little Miss started today, she has big brother's old teachers (boy are they in for a suprise..). Her class is located in the center of the school hallway and as her father's child she worked the hall this morning like a politician. She gave hugs,waves, and hellos to kids from summer, from last year, from church, etc. I could hardly get her still for a picture.

We have always made a point to watch the sunrise on our last morning with all our beach trips, the incredible beauty and peace it provides is something that pictures can not describe. Our last day of this trip with two little ones in tow did not get us across to the sand by sunrise however we still made an early trip over and took pictures of the most beautiful and precious things in our lives.

This has been an incredible year of development for Will. He has gone from barely printing his name to full sentences, basic addition/subtraction, and reading! He continues to be more reserved and quiet however he has great confidence in himself (Bike without training wheels video to come soon)and truly established some special friendships this year. The pictures include his program,teachers, and special friends (the one with all boys is "The bros"-they named themselves early in the year and have a special handshake!)

Mother's Day Tea

Will took Mom to school with him on Thursday. He has been working very hard at school to write and illustrate a book about his mom. He read his book by himself to his entire class and all of his classmate's moms. He did a great job and mom was very proud!

First Performance

Hillary had her end of year program this week at school, it was a two part demonstration in music and spanish. She sang every note, knew every word, and was thrilled to have an audience. On that same note, she started a short dance class this week and is VERY excited about her leotard. We are certain this is only a small glimpse of her love to "put on a show"....

Day 2 of snow, we had 11 inches here at the house. It is beautiful and Will has loved it (see his snow "swimming picture", I have video of the belly flops, going down the slide, running laps, and ofcourse throwing snow at his sister), Hillary liked it okay however felt very uncertain walking in it so deep and was quickly ready to go in, and poor old Baxter-he had zero interest and has not left his bed since the picture with Dad yesterday evening:)

New Mexico

We took a break this summer and spent a week in Santa Fe and Glorieta. Highlights include a week without the TV, Kevin, Will and Hillary hiking a mountain-Will loved it!, paddle boat rides-Hillary is there-but she could not move in her life jacket:), and just time together-the four of us.

Will is playing Tee Ball this summer. His team is the Seminoles and Kevin is his coach.It is very friendly, every child hits and rotates a base but Will still found it necessary to slide into home at his last game:)

11 Years...

We celebrated our 11 year anniversary on Saturday (Technically 16 if you count the 5 years of dating).
We had a lovely dinner-the four of us and playtime in the backyard. How life has changed-but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Christmas Highlights

Pretend play clothes were a big player on everyone's list this year! They also got a clubhouse for the backyard with fort on top and playhouse on bottom. A huge thank you to Dad, Paw Paw and Grandad who put it together in freezing cold weather on Monday so the kids would have a big suprise Christmas morning! And Will was shocked-he made up a few words until finally a few real words came out. Come on over but bring your jacket we are out back...!

Baby Pierce is "out"

Pierce Jacob arrived at 9:12 pm on Thursday. We have all been anxoiusly awaiting his arrival, with Will at the top of the list. UJ had told him Pierce could play goalie and Will had already decided there would be a boys only fishing trip (before the rest of were even certain Pierce was going to be a boy!) needless to say, he has been asking for a long time if baby Pierce is "out" yet since he was "in" Aunt Jo's belly.... We waited very patiently in our jammies Thursday night at the hospital to let him (and his proud mom and dad) know just how excited we were!

Will was a pro at trick or treating this year. Although still a bit shy by nature he had no problem seeking out the candy! Hillary hesitantly followed Will across the street but once the first house was accomplished she was sold. She sweetly toddled behind Will, slinging her candy bag on her arm like a purse and headed to the door to proudly say trick or treat, thank you and bye bye.

We have made it a tradition to go with Shanda's family to a small pumpkin patch every year. It is quiet and peaceful-if that can be with 5 kids- but they can run and play and we have great pictures of them growing up together

18 months

Hillary is 18 months now-she enjoys music/dancing and whatever is Will playing with.. She has a mind of her own, happy to let you know when she will or will not participate and when she is in control (her pediatrician called her "spirited"). She is talking alot, excellent with please and thank you and loves to hold the phone say hello and jabber.

Will had a very special 4th birthday which included a new cousin and a superhero soccer (two of his most favorite things right now) party. We had friends out to the indoor soccer facility for pizza, cake, and batman vs. superman soccer. We did team shirts for the party favors- as most of you know I am sensitive to privacy so you will see our friends' "smiling faces":)

Our Christmas holiday was shared between Sweetwater and home. Will really enjoyed Christmas. Our continuously faithful and patient Baxter turns 9 years old this month. He has gone through two moves and had two children added to his life in the past seven years. He still enjoys a good game of fetch but equally enjoys naptime when no one is pulling on his ears or jumping around his bed. We had party hats and blowers in his honor --despite the above picture he hated the hat and Hillary cried everytime Will blew his blower....

Hillary is 6 months now. She is starting fruits and veggies, can ride in the shopping cart with her basket cover (and not the carrier), and can go to the gym! She also has Daddy wrapped around her finger-but it did not take 6 months for that...
